Weather Monster Workout

Missing us today? Well here's our weekend weather workout report! Grab dad and the kids for a little workout with our little Weather Monster; and get the little ones involved by having them call out the weather corresponding exercise. These 6 quick videos are all less than 3 minutes and they should give you quite the workout!

First, make sure you start with a warm-up and lots of dynamic movements to get that body pumping (just pretend I'm in your living room and we're doing the question of the day! "Whose your favorite Sesame Street character?") Also, while you are completing these exercises make sure you modify to meet your own intensity level and always feel free to stop, stretch, tap it out and return when its right for you.

Let's get started!

Grover Reports the Weather Cardio Burst

Every time:

It's SUNNY: Butt Kickers

It's RAINING: Maniacs

It's THUNDERING & LIGHTNING: Burpee

It's SNOWING: Jumping Jacks

It's WINDY: Jump Rope

It's Raining Cookies Lunges

Start off the video with an Alternating Reverse Lunge and every time someones says "COOKIE" add in a Front Kick.

Jumping In Puddles Cardio Burst

Pick a jump that's best for you: maybe your burst jumping (level 3), doing a simple hop (level 2), or just making the motion without your feet leaving the ground (level 1) - just jump along with Elmo. Even the toddlers can join in on this simple one!

Counting On the Weather Plank Combo

Every time:

A Count sings: Hold a plank, (and don't forget to modify if you need!)

A Count counts: Push-ups

The weather acts up: Supermom

Grover Sells the Weather Cardio Burst

Every time:

It's SUNNY: Butt Kickers

It's RAINING: Maniacs

It's THUNDERING & LIGHTNING: Burpee

It's SNOWING: Jumping Jacks

It's WINDY: Jump Rope

It Sure Is Hot Abs

While the Muppets are singing, inverse crunch or sit-up, then whenever someone sings "hace calor" or "it sure is hot" dip those triceps.

Remember to get in a good cool down!

What did you think of our Weather Workout? Did the little ones get into the jumping fun? (Did you have to listen that vid more than once too?) AND who is your favorite Sesame Street character?
