COVID-19 Guidelines

As a prenatal and postpartum fitness company dedicated to providing Strength in Motherhood,™ FIT4MOM values community care above all else. We are committed to doing our part to keep our clients safe and our Village healthy. By implementing guidelines set forth by the CDC, WHO, IHRSA, IDEA and local state authorities, we are confident that with your cooperation, we are prepared to resume in-person fitness classes, in addition to our virtual offerings.

Dear FIT4MOM Ann Arbor Village,

We know how challenging these past months have been, and as always, we are here to support you. Our number one concern is for the safety of you and your family. We want to provide you with options to continue your fitness with us, whether you decide to join us in person or remain virtual for the time being.

In accordance with the guidelines and regulations of the CDC, WHO and local government, we are preparing to gradually return to outdoor classes. That said, we will continue to provide virtual offerings if you are not quite ready to return to in-person classes. We respect that this is an individual decision. We also believe that preparing our team and members ahead of time will help us to achieve a smooth re-opening. We will be thrilled to welcome you back, but we acknowledge the necessary changes to certain former practices

To ensure the highest standards of cleanliness and prevent the spread of COVID-19, we will be implementing the following:

1. We are limiting class attendance to maintain safe social distancing.

Register for class ahead of time, even if it's a half hour before class. We are currently limiting our outdoor class attendance to 10 people to maintain a safe distance between each mom/child set.

2. Masks are required at check-in. Masks are optional during the class.

This means while we wait for class to start as well as during the warm up and cool down, masks are required. If a child is unable to wear their mask (we get it, this is tough!) we request they remain in their stroller before and after class to maintain proper social distancing. Children under 2 are not recommended to wear a face covering.

3. Members are required to follow social distancing guidelines.

We will keep a 10-foot distance during class. It is not recommended for children to wear masks under 2 years old, so it will be critical to keep 10-foot distance (note: since exercise increases breathing, and that increases the distance aerosol travels, we will be using 10-feet social distancing versus the usual 6).

4. Children MUST remain buckled in strollers for the entire class.

This is already our rule in place, but will be strongly enforced. Another safe option is to wear your child on your back or front in a carrier.

5. There will be no sharing of equipment.

We ask you to bring your own water bottles, bands and towels/mats, and to keep childrens’ personal belongings (snacks, toys, etc) in your own personal stroller. Please refrain from toy and snack sharing. Instructors will have new, sealed bands available to sell at the start of class as well as bands to borrow that are sanitized at the start and end of class. Borrower assumes all risks and responsibility. We encourage you to bring your own sanitizing wipes and hand sanitizer.

6. Bad weather days will be virtual.

We are not using our indoor locations. If it rains or appears to have inclement weather, we will move our class online via zoom. You will be notified an hour before class if you have previously enrolled in the class.

7. Playgroups will be discontinued for the time being.

We will continue to avoid in person playgroups and use Zoom for all interactive activities. You are free to use the playground equipment after class at your own risk, but we will not be heading there as a FIT4MOM Ann Arbor group. Instructors will not be staying after class for social gatherings. They will be packing up as soon as class has completed.

8. Do not attend class if you or anyone in your family is showing signs or symptoms.

Per the CDC, the following are known symptoms of COVID-19:

  • Fever or chills
  • Cough
  • Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
  • Fatigue
  • Muscle or body aches
  • Headache
  • New loss of taste or smell
  • Sore throat
  • Congestion or runny nose
  • Nausea or vomiting
  • Diarrhea

If you or anyone in your family has any of the above symptoms, please refrain from coming to class until you have self-quarantined for 14 days after the symptoms disappear.

9. Do not attend class if you have left the state of Michigan within the past 14 days and are unvaccinated.

Not all states are using the same guidelines. As a result, we request that you refrain from coming to a live class until you have been back in Michigan and symptom-free for 14 days if you have not received your COVID vaccination.

To maintain social distancing, we will be meeting at the Medford entrance of County Farm Park to avoid the playground.

The above changes will help us stay committed to a healthy and safe community. We will continue to monitor both local and federal government information, and will update you should anything change. Additionally, if you or your child(ren) have experienced any symptoms such as fever, Cough, difficulty breathing, chills, muscle pain, headache, sore throat, loss of taste/smell, or diarrhea, or have been around someone who has, please do your part and do not come to class. It’s of the utmost importance to be considerate of others and avoid anything that would put anyone at risk.

We appreciate and understand your efforts to be healthy and cautious at this time. Should you have any questions or concerns about our process please let us know. We are currently meeting in person on Monday, Wednesday and Saturday mornings at 9:30 am.
